Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) represents the 8th Congressional District of New York, which includes the boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens.

On June 23, 2014, Rep. Jeffries introduced the H.R. 4936, the “Vulnerable Immigrant Voice Act of 2014” (VIVA), which would provide legal representation to unaccompanied minors and mentally disabled individuals during immigration proceedings.  To learn more about this legislation, click HERE.
