The 2024 Congressional App Challenge (CAC) allows young coders and programmers in the 8th Congressional District to showcase their amazing abilities and compete to have their applications featured on the House.gov and Congressional App Challenge Page.

The challenge allows student participants to practice computer science and coding. The annual program provides extensive exposure to STEAM careers and inspires students to realize their capability.

Congressional App Challenge Rules:

  1. The Challenge is open to all students who reside in the 8th District OR attend a middle or high school in the 8th District.
  2. Students can compete individually or in teams of up to four. If competing as a team, at least half of the teammates must be eligible to compete in the district they are participating in.
  3. All programming languages and/or platforms are welcome.

How do I Enter?

To enter, you must submit an application with a 1–3-minute video explaining the concept behind the app and answer the questions on the Congressional App Challenge website. All entries must be original in concept, design and execution. Students may submit entries that are conceptual and do not need to have a working program.

All submissions must be made by November 1, 2024. Winners will be announced in early January 2024.
