BROOKLYN – Hundreds of people filled the auditorium of Boys and Girls High School in Bed-Stuy Thursday evening for Rep. Hakeem Jeffries’ State of the District.

The freshman congressman laid out his initiatives for the 8th District, including plans to push for gun control and establish new programs for at-risk youth.

Jeffries also says he is planning to push for a moratorium on luxury development in the borough, which he says is squeezing out middle-class families.
