Jeffries Urges House GOP To Put The Needs Of Americans Before Partisanship

WASHINGTON – On November 18, 2013, Congressman Hakeem Jeffries (NY-8) led a Congressional Black Caucus Special Order with Rep. Steven Horsford (NV-4) on ending hunger in America.  They were joined by CBC Chairwoman Rep. Marcia Fudge (OH-11) and Rep. Andre Carson (IN-7).

Rep. Jeffries spoke on the House Floor about the adverse impact cutting critical supplemental nutrition benefits will have on approximately 50 million working-class Americans.  Rep. Jeffries also exposed significant economic disparities that have further exacerbated food insecurity, principally within the African American community.
