The expanded and improved Biden Child Tax Credit has taken effect.
46,700 households in our community will receive monthly payments of up to $250 per child between the ages of 6-17 or up to $300 per child under the age of 6.
These payments will help New York families pay for food, housing, clothing, diapers, transportation, medicine and childcare and will lift 13,700 children in our neighborhoods out of poverty.
The monthly payments will last until the end of the year, but we are fighting to make them permanent.
