Today, House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries released the following statement:

My prayers are with everyone in the path of the horrific floods in the Hill Country of Texas, particularly with the parents and families of the girls from Camp Mystic. I join the nation in mourning for those who have been lost. 

House Democrats stand ready to support the response effort in any way possible. We are grateful to the first responders who are putting themselves in danger while working to save lives under extremely difficult conditions. 

May God watch over the people of Texas and our country.
