Today, Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries released the following statement: 

250 years ago, the United States Army was born out of the struggle to defeat a monarchy and establish a government of the people, by the people and for the people. Year after year and decade after decade, our soldiers have answered the call with courage, honor and patriotism and have never yielded to a tyrant or dictator. We salute the generations of Americans who have worn the uniform and all of the families who have supported them. Their service represents the very best of our nation. 

Happy 250th Birthday to the United States Army and God bless our troops.
