On Friday, an eighteen-year-old nursing student was also killed as a result of a violent knife attack just a few blocks from where the tragic incident took place on Sunday.
“There is a psychopath on the loose in East New York who can strike again at any moment. Until the person or individuals responsible for these heinous crimes are apprehended, we need all hands on deck. The FBI should step up to assist the police department and our community during this urgent time of need,” said Rep. Hakeem Jeffries.
In a letter to FBI Assistant Director George Venizelos sent earlier today, Rep. Jeffries noted that the agency is uniquely positioned to provide expertise, resources and technical assistance in connection with the ongoing manhunt. (Click HERE to read the letter.)
“Our community remains grief-stricken and paralyzed by uncertainty. There should be no limit to the amount of law enforcement resources, at all levels of government, devoted to the effort to find justice in the face of tragedy,” added Rep. Jeffries.
