The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), which Democrats in Congress created in 2021 through a $65 billion investment in broadband expansion in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, helps households afford the broadband they need for work, school, healthcare and more.
ACP Statistics in NY-08:
- 140,000 households in NY-08 have enrolled in the ACP.
- $25 million has been spent on ensuring everyone afford the broadband they need for work, school, healthcare and more.
The program provides a discount of up to:
- $30 per month toward internet service for eligible households and
- $100 for a laptop, desktop computer or tablet purchased through a participating provider.
You are eligible for the ACP if you (or someone in your household) participate in one of these programs:
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
- Medicaid
- Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA)
- Veterans Pension and Survivors Benefit
- Free and Reduced-Price School Lunch Program or School Breakfast Program
- Received a Federal Pell Grant in the current award year
