For over a decade, Congressman Matt Cartwright has been a relentless advocate for the hardworking families of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Matt has been a commonsense voice in Congress who led the charge to lower the high cost of prescription drugs and cap the price of insulin at $35 a month for seniors. 

A former Co-Chair of the Democratic Policy and Communications Committee, Matt played a key role in crafting our People Over Politics messaging. As a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee, he has brought millions of dollars back to Northeastern Pennsylvania and was instrumental in creating thousands of good-paying jobs across the region.

Matt and I came into Congress together as classmates, and I am grateful to call him a friend. It is a testament to his strength as a legislator that he has been able to defy political gravity in a battleground district year after year. I am grateful to Matt for his friendship and his years of service to the Congress and the country. I wish him and Marion the best in this next chapter.
