WASHINGTON- Today, Congressman Hakeem Jeffries (NY-8) released the following statement after President Obama delivered his 5^th State of the Union Address to a Joint Session of Congress:

“In his first term, the President inherited a train wreck of catastrophic proportions. Through his leadership, the American economy is back on track. President Obama passionately made the case that we must work together to put the American people back to work, fix our broken immigration system and address the gun violence problem plaguing our nation.

Congress must now respond in a bipartisan way to defend our children, strengthen the middle class and stand up for our seniors.”
