Jeffries And 12 House Colleagues Urge President Obama And Congressional Leadership To Oppose Funding Cuts For Native Americans

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), joined by twelve of his House Colleagues, sent a letter to President Barack Obama, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Speaker John Boehner that addressed the potential impact of sequestration cuts to Native American programs. The letter urges all parties to respect the Constitutional sovereignty of Native Americans living on tribal land with respect to the allocation of automatic spending cuts.
