“The Senate has put partisan politics aside and courageously taken a substantial step forward on behalf of over two million long-term unemployed Americans. It is now time for Speaker Boehner and House Republicans to do the right thing for our country and allow a vote on the legislation. "House Republicans have renewed their attack on working families, the middle class and seniors by putting forth another budget that callously balances itself on the backs of the most vulnerable Americans. Among other measures, the House Republican budget seeks to turn Medicare into a voucher program, dramatically reduce spending on higher education and deny American workers the raise they deserve. I strongly oppose the adoption of the Ryan budget, and will work hard to make sure that it is once again banished to the dustbin of history.”
