Congressional Black Caucus Will Take to House Floor to Discuss Ferguson and What It Means to be Black in America

Washington, DC – During tonight’s Special Order Hour, shortly after voting has concluded, Rep. Jeffries will lead a one hour discussion on the House floor by members of the Congressional Black Caucus entitled: “Black In America: What Ferguson Says About Where We Are And Where We Need To Go.” Members of the CBC will discuss the challenges of being Black in America, particularly for young, African-American men. CBC members will also address the epidemic of police violence, the grand jury’s decision not to indict Officer Darren Wilson and recent incidents such as the police killing of Tamir Rice in Cleveland, Akai Gurley in Brooklyn and Eric Garner in Staten Island.
