Senior Corps Week 2013
Senior Corps Week is a program held by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) and runs from May 6 - 10, 2013. Senior Corps taps the skills, talents, and experience of more than 330,000 Americans age 55 and over to meet a wide range of community challenges through its three programs – RSVP, Foster Grandparents, and Senior Companions.
There are numerous ways people can participate in Senior Corps Week and recognize the impact these programs make in our community:
- Participate in a site visit, recognition ceremony, or roundtable discussion on the importance of volunteerism and senior service in your state or district;
- Become an Honorary Senior Corps Member for a day and work alongside Senior Corps members in a service project in your community;
- Recognize the impact of Senior Corps using social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter, or your website. You can connect with Senior Corps programs on facebook.com/seniorcorps, and follow us on Twitter using @seniorcorps and @nationalservice.
