The Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island, Inc. and the Wildlife Conservation Society’s New York Aquarium have teamed up to invite all seniors (age 60+) to explore the wonders of the aquatic world.

All seniors are invited to particpate in an educational workshop to investigate the diversity of marine life near and far; discover how plants and animals adapt to life in the water; learn how you can make a difference to help keep our blue planet healthy. You can experience exhibit talks, biological artifact handling, behind the scene experiences, and hands-on interactions at the touch pool as you learn about  shark natural history, fish diversity, marine microscopic life, penguin natural history, deep sea adaptations, beach ecology, seals, sea lions and otters, coral reef conservation, and animal husbandry.

A bus will be offering transportation from the Coney Island Seaside ISC at 1:30 to the Coney Island Seaside Innovative Senior Center.

Registration in advance is required.  Groups are limited and expected to fill up quickly.

For more information or to register, please call Grace Brandi at 718-449-6364 or (917) 250-6147.
